After 2 years of waiting, it feels so great to be releasing an original again. These two songs were recorded over the course of the last few months even though some of the ideas were rotating in my head since 2021. For this new single I decided to single out (heh) the songs that showcase two of the genres that have inspired me the most while recording my new project.

"Não Obstante o Pensamento" is my first song fully written in Portuguese, this song came about as I decided to get closer to my roots and feature some of the elements of its music in my own. I drew a lot of inspiration from veteran fadistas, portuguese guitar players and contemporary singer/songwriters.

"My Friend (Thou Art is So Fair)" is also an original and features one of my favourite chord progressions I've ever written. I was particularly inspired by the wonderful genres of Bossa Nova and MPB.

I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who helped out in the making of these two songs. Whether you contributed something to them or just gave your feedback, you played a crucial role in helping me bring them to life.
